Playa Cacao
Across the bay from the Golfito waterfront and marinas, you will find a small, uncrowded Playa Cacao.
It is reached by a 10 minute boat ride from the Port of Golfito, or a dirt road around the northern end of the bay, a great easy hiking experience.
The water at this beach is calm as a swimming pool, and deep enough for boat anchorage. The area is surrounded by the Golfito Wildlife Refuge, with hiking trails and primary evergreen rain forests.
Zancudo Beach
Playa Zancudo is a laid back funky, dirt road, barefoot, no shirt community. You can hear howlers in the distance, watch white faced and Titi monkeys, and sloths hanging around for days.
It's a great place to play in the waves and get a tan. Not to mention catch a wave or two.
Playa Pavones
Home to one of the longest lefts in the world (the wave goes on and on and on), Pavones Beach is an essential stop on any true surfer's itinerary. Surfers come to Pavones for months at a time (especially during the wet season, when the swells are best),
However, with powerful waves smashing into the black jagged shore, Playa Pavones is an aesthetic treat for the non-surfer to enjoy.
